Thank you @SecretaryPete. My sister had multiple chairs and mobility devices damaged or ruined during air travel, without adequate (or often any) compensation, despite our privilege + attempts to hold carriers responsible. The impact on her health was real. This is a big deal.
The era of tolerating mistreatment of airline passengers with disabilities is over. Today, our department is announcing a $50 million penalty against American Airlines for numerous serious violations of the rights of wheelchair users.
