2/2 and negatively affected image quality, but could it be there is no shield between the rotating gantry and the belt. ? . I can't believe that. It must be stuff falls off and lays on the cover and throws artifacts for all the bags after until they clear it. Thoughts?.

1/2 Went through an airport with analogic CT scanners. tsa worker made a deal about people's bags not being too high, and even had weights to push down people's stuff. I asked a tsa person, she said "if a coat falls out the machine breaks". I assumed it was truncation issues

11/ Final comment . Before I spent money on a premium DECT scanner I'd make sure I had money put aside for a lead tech to facilitate DECT protocoling/ scanning/image reconstruction/post processing @ASRT.

10/ rotate-rotate (I guess any vendor can do this, I think only Siemens/Canon do/did? provide software to process such data).Pros: You can tell your colleagues all of your scanners are spectral.Cons: I'd only use for gout, too slow to deal with hemodynamics/motion.

9/ split filter (twin beam, Siemens).Pros: lower price point, access to good Siemens processing apps.Cons: too slow for thorax, peds, angio, underpowered for bariatrics.

8/ split layer detector (Philips).Pros: always on, so you can ease into DECT for new indications (very important!).Cons: I don't like look of iodine or low keV images.

6/ let's get into specific techniques. Fast kV switching (GE).Pros: full FOV, deep learning recon.Cons: AEC isn't great, cardiac GSI not on all scanners.

5/ Just because a scanner has DECT doesn't mean you can do DECT in all scan modes! Ask vendors if their DECT works for.A. Cardiac, B. Perfusion, C. Interventional, D. "Fast scan modes" (e.g. hyperdrive or turbo flash), E. For all pitches/rotation times/collimations.
