Some genuinely interesting replies to this (and a few boring ones). But the question remains: when the UK's debt is around 100% of its GDP, and demands on its health, welfare, defence etc. budgets are rapidly growing - should we be increasing tax on earned or unearned income?.
Even as he was saying this earlier, I knew Lewis was going to take an avalanche of shit for it. You can make a reasonable case against *any* form of tax. But I don't see how you can really argue that taxing earned income is *better* than taxing money acquired by mere luck. 🤷♂️.

Fascinating to see so many right wingers argue against my position that taxes should be reduced on work in exchange for increased taxes on inherited wealth. Normally they’re the first to argue against hand outs? Curious!.
