(continued) rankings are starting to get pretty accurate. This doesn’t mean that you will agree with the/your ranking at this point. There will still be mistakes. It simply means they are based more on live evaluation. Personal Note: I disagree with rankings ALL THE TIME.

How accurate do rankings end up being in the end? Early rankings (incoming freshmen) are the least accurate long term. Limited live evaluations, fragmented AAU market, early developers, all pose challenges for rankings early. By the spring of junior year (cont)

I’m underrated and/or my ranking dropped. What do I do? 👉 Reach out to the scout(s) in your market & ask them the logic for the ranking. I understand the temptation, but attacking scouts and/or down talking players publicly won’t improve a ranking, or make you feel better.

What matters more, production or potential? 👉 There are 15+ point scorers in every gym in America. Some go high major, some go D3. Production matters, and is too often ignored, but size and athleticism will always stand out to evaluators first, including college coaches.

Do college coaches use rankings? 👉 Among other things (i.e. referrals from AAU/HS coaches) colleges use rankings to organize lists of players they need to follow up on. It’s just one way to start the conversation. 📢 NO SCHOOL WILL OFFER YOU BECAUSE OF A RANKING.
