Regardless of your opinion on FEMA or your politics, the fact that people are gathering locally to plan and prepare for disasters is a societal good. Be the neighbor you want others to be. (this article is behind a paywall unfortunately).

It's known in the news business that "if it bleeds, it leads." But too much doomscrolling is unhealthy. News avoidance is on the rise. Take a break, put the phone away, go touch some grass.

Interest in preppers who are left-of-center is catching on. It experienced a bump after President Trump's first inauguration as well. Resilience is not politically coded and right/left have overlap in the space. However, there are definite cleavage points as well.
