Fabulous addition data for men based on the QOL outcomes form the landmark ProtecT study - up to 12 years from diagnosis
The Predict:Prostate tool ( https://t.co/dzgVE4Keq2) is now updated with new data on the possible harms of the different treatment options. You can now select how many years ahead you want to look. You can weigh these against the possible survival benefit that the site calculates.

We agree with @AmerUrological 2022 guideline on how to handle MRI target & systematic biopsy in risk estimation in #prostatecancer - avoids grade inflation and risk over-estimation 👉see how this works in practice https://t.co/O3e0Uj1iCO

A lot of hard work here from Gabe and the team to produce better genetic test reports, which patients (and clinicians!) understand and find helpful. The problem now - getting them into actual use in the medical system! Please RT to spread the word to someone who can get them used
1/7 It’s important people understand results they get from medical testing– like genetic testing. We’ve been using user-centred design (Lauren Capacchione, @alex_freeman, and @acethecurious) to build better genetic reports than those now in use by the NHS: https://t.co/6TeG3I64nq

I find this tool really helpful as men often overestimate the risk of Prostate cancer death and the potential benefit of treatment and under estimate their (often much larger) risk of death from other causes.
@Prof_Nick_James argues to use tools predicting survival in men with prostate cancer undergoing radical treatment like https://t.co/B6LsuJK9Iu. Additional tools could be developed for intensified treatment in mHSPC. #APCCC21.
