i think all my interviewers were either very good (elicit, a bunch of other startups), or very bad. i don't think i ever had an interview where i was like "oh man that was so close to the median".
While looking for my current internship I went for an AI SWE interview and it was much nicer than the person who dismissed all my work saying "oh I could build that in an afternoon" and proceeded to belittle me the whole half hour.

Happy to announce that I'm starting a year-long internship on the evaluations team at @elicitorg! The team is great, and I can't wait to build great stuff.

AI job recruiters outperform human recruiters, and candidates prefer them too. The world is getting very weird.

Genetic inequality created by genetic modification is in principle worse than other forms of inequalities because it creates lock in effects , not to mention the arms race.
I think generally technology diffuses, so questions of equity don't really form a large consideration. But it is true that for this diffusion is not sufficient to remove the inequality.

@noor_siddiqui_ other stuff: "our vision is to ensure every child is born in the best health"."our vision is that every parent can understand the genetic risks of their embryos".

maybe @noor_siddiqui_ you could have led with peace of mind around the child's health, or making an informed choice about your child or what conditions you screen for.

while I'm extremely pro embryo screening for the specific context of avoiding genetic illnesses i think this style of marketing is morally repulsive to me. guilt inducing language, the ableist framing and false equivalence (to skincare) makes me very uncomfortable seeing it.
What if your baby never walks? What if they are never able to live independently?. What if you could have stopped it….but chose not to?. That’s the question @OrchidInc’s embryo screening forces. You optimize everything… career, diet, skincare… but you’re going to chance it on

"subcultures I know where people consistently don’t drink are dead and humorless.". I am part of such a culture, and I would strongly disagree. I think it is going great, I think we have a lot of fun and are able to open up without the alcohol.
Quick story about my relationship with alcohol: When I was in college, I drank way too much. 10+ drinks per week, and there were many nights I only remember via Snapchat stories. After graduating, I moved to New York City where I initially kept up that drinking habit until I.
