Standing ovation at the Dean Dome for RJ Davis as he drops a career high 36 points 💥
Gets a big hug from Hubert Davis as he heads to the bench, too. Awesome moment.
Up 36 with under 3 to go and the entire bench is locked into making sure the ball stays with the Heels’ seniors 👈
It’s the little things too that makes this team so special.
In 2006, Duke’s senior night was all smiles for Carolina. Freshman Tyler Hansbrough led the Tar Heels with 27 points in the first of four straight wins at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Caleb Love absolutely carrying Arizona right now. This is one of those games when he looks phenomenal.
Has a career-high 36, and it’s incredibly efficient.
Arizona up 85-71 with 2 minutes left.
Congratulations to Ian Jackson and Drake Powell for being selected to the McDonald’s All American game for 2024. Jackson and Powell now give Carolina 83 McDonald’s All Americans since 1977!
Happy Birthday to Tar Heel legend Vince Carter! Seeing him play in person is one of my top moments as a Carolina fan. He and Antawn Jamison put on a show in the 1997 Blue and White game that I’ll never forget.
Lost in all the other stats from the game at Clemson this weekend was the fact that the Heels are 3-0 since my son was born. This is now his favorite jersey, and Seth Trimble is his favorite player.
Born. Bred. Baby Adams is a Tar Heel!
Coby White put Duke’s team in a blender on the way to 21 points, a share of the ACC regular season crown, and a sweep of the Blue Devils in 2019.

The late, great Ademola Okulaja with a memorable game winning three at Virginia in 1999. Can Carolina break through in Charlottesville on Saturday for the first time in 12 years?
#Ready4UVA
It’s easy to forget how talented the 2005 championship team was almost 20 years later…until you turn on the tape. Against the Wolfpack that year Carolina put on an absolute aerial display in the Smith Center.

#LeapYear
In 2012, Carolina was out for revenge in Cameron, and they got it early, building a 48-24 halftime lead on the way to a blowout victory over Duke.
@Johnhenson31
iconic hurdle continues to be one of our favorite highlight plays from that game.
#Ready4TheRivalry
Carolina lost a second on the clock…didn’t even matter. Ty Lawson was a blur with the basketball.
Shout out to
@MDWDFW
for posting this clip in one of our threads earlier today!

Harrison Ingram having the game of his life in the game of his life. Up to 21 points and 10 boards including 5 threes! Heels 69-59 under 10. Finish the fight!
Shammond Williams with an all-time performance at “The Thrillerdome” in Atlanta in a 107-100 double OT win over Georgia Tech. His 42 points are the most for the Heels in the last 25+ years.
#Ready4GT
The last time Carolina met Alabama in the NCAA tournament was in 1992. Tar Heel senior Hubert Davis finished a difficult shot over future pros Latrell Sprewell and Robert Horry on his way to a team high 16 points in a 64-55 second round win.

Hubert Davis deserves a lot of credit in the win over FSU. The press was a great in-game adjustment.
@UNC_Basketball
was also more aggressive and effective getting to the foul line in the second half, going 20-25 after only 5-6 in the first half.
Dontrez Styles ties a career high from game one this year with 15 points including 3-3 from 3.
Justin McKoy led Hawaii with 15 points in the Rainbow Warriors season opening win earlier today.
Congratulations to both former Tar Heels for strong starts to the season!
Officially Duke week and Armando Bacot’s birthday! What better way to celebrate then going back to Mondo’s dunk that ended Coach K’s retirement party.
#Ready4TheRivalry
Vince Carter with the monster jam off the lob in a frenetic comeback win over Duke in 1996. The Heels were down 17 in the first half and 11 with under 9 to go but battled back to set off a wild celebration on Franklin Street.

Former Tar Heel
@Doctork24_
is on fire, scoring 22 and 17 points in the last two games. Walton shot 10-14 from three in those games and is up to 59.1% on the year. Keep it up Kerwin!
No poll today for Tar Heel player of the game against Wake, because we’re confident we know who you would choose! RJ Davis was exceptional last night with a career high 36 points on 14-23 shooting and 4-8 from 3. Pointing out to you RJ!
Who better to break down RJ Davis' 42-point performance than RJ Davis himself? 🗣️🏀

Marking the last day of crossover season between Carolina football and basketball with a thunderous dunk from Julius Peppers, the best to play both sports at UNC.
In 2008, Tyler Hansbrough had 39 points in a 2 OT comeback win, including 11 points down with 3 minutes to go in regulation. But he made the play of the game on defense.
Who will make the winning plays tonight against the Tigers?
#Ready4Clemson
RJ Davis is now 9th in ACC history for 3pt field goals made in a single season with 113. On Saturday he passed Jon Scheyer (110) and Trajan Langdon (112). Next up? Dennis Scott’s 1988-1989 season (116).

Happy New Year Tar Heels! Still time to sync up the second half of the 2022 Final Four against that team from Durham, so that you ring in the new year with Love (from the top of the key).
Officially Duke week. Time for Carolina nation to get fired up and locked in for the big game. Posting a highlight a day starting with the epic poster that didn’t count by Dexter Strickland. Even Kyle Singler knew he got away with one.

Carolina family is family! Would have been happy for Seth wherever he decided to go and am ecstatic we get to watch him fly through the rafters for another year in Chapel Hill!!
For all you stats nerds out there, this thread's for you 📈
We took a look at the 19 regular season games Carolina played in 2024 to try and identify any trends that tell the story of the season heading into the ACC Tourney and March Madness.
Here's what we found ⬇️
Luke Maye with the huge three to tie against Miami in 2019. Heels would go on to win 88-85 in overtime. Coby White with big shot after big shot and finished with 33. Carolina looks for another win at home against the Hurricanes tonight.
#Ready4Miami
Welcome to the rivalry rook! Cadeau with 7 points and 3 assists at the half. His aggressiveness getting to the rim and kicking to shooters is dynamic. Heels 45-35 at the break.
Win or lose, we roll with our guys. Pointing out to RJ for his performance against GT. Put the team on his back offensively and nearly willed them to a furious comeback win. Most impressive, his defense and hustle in getting steals and 50/50 balls late. Special, special, player.
How many huge shots has Harrison hit down the stretch of games?! Absolute difference maker. I’m not sure about Kevin Keatts, but Harrison Ingram is a winner. Heels up 7 under 4.
Cole Anthony set a freshman record with 34 points in his debut against Notre Dame in 2019. Anthony was spectacular, including 12-24 shooting, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. From the first game of the year to senior night, Carolina is

About last night: when my son wears Carolina gear we are undefeated in 2024. For weekday games he gets ready for bed before the games start. We’re taking ownership for the loss and buying him UNC pajamas immediately.
I’m not superstitious…
NEWS: North Carolina forward James Okonkwo is entering the transfer portal, per source.
Okonkwo is a native of Maidenhead, England who played just one season at UNC. He began his career playing two seasons at West Virginia.
He averaged 1.0PPG in 15 games played this season.
Coby White 🤝 RJ Davis
In the last four games Coby is averaging 24.25, and RJ is averaging 27.5! Carolina consistently produces the best guards in the country.

Carolina legend 4️⃣ ever! RJ’s 21.2 points per game are the most by a Carolina guard since Charlie Scott in 1970. Incredibly deserving of this award. Congratulations RJ!!
Gameday in Durham! One of our traditions is rewatching the 1995 game at Cameron. We’ll be watching starting at 11am!
Join us here for our reactions to that game, as we get locked in for a huge matchup tonight.
Is another Cormac Ryan game loading for Thursday? In the 2022 R64 against Alabama, Cormac scored 29 points on 10/13 shooting, including 7/9 from three. As his college career comes to a close during this tournament, I think we see one more huge game from Ryan.
A model of Carolina Basketball, both in the way he played the game and in the way he treated those around him. Just an immense loss and a lot of hurt right now.
Thanks for the memories and so much more, Eric. 🩵
Championship game day! Carolina and State last met in the ACC championship game 17 years ago in Tampa when Ty Lawson’s dunk punctuated the victory.

The results are in. Elliot Cadeau is the player of the game at Miami. Cadeau finishes with a career high 19 points and two big threes, along with 8 assists. The best part? The rookie isn’t satisfied and will get right back to work on his game. The best is yet to come for EC!
Happy birthday
@Johnhenson31
! I always enjoyed how much Henson enjoyed playing the game.
His enthusiasm and positive energy was contagious on the court and matched by exceptional talent and ability.
UNC practiced at Johnson C Smith, an HBCU in Charlotte, Wednesday as the Tar Heels got ready to play a first round NCAA Tournament game here. UNC coach Hubert Davis’ dad was a star on the Smith team in the ‘60s
