I don’t know the man, but I admire how he operates. Combining with a well kept 1640, hauling with mint 1086 and 966. He doesn’t farm a huge amount but I bet he owns most of what he farms… and his fields show the same pride and care that his iron does. Perfect.

A young man in my home town with Down Syndrome turned 7 yesterday. He received hundreds of cards... a visit from the Police Chief, and a parade past his house, led by the fire and rescue rigs. (We participated). Sometimes I hate small towns... but sometimes I love them. ❤️❤️❤️

Landlord just called.... 86 years old... He had snuck down to look at his farm and was bragging it up... (I tiled it for him before renting it). I said “I’m just glad you’re happy with how it looks”. He said “Happy?! God Damn I’m ecstatic! Way to go!” Made my day.

Well, I’m pretty sure a tornado just got real close. Barn is gone, garden shed is gone, old hog barn is gone. Skyline of the place looks horrible without the barn. Shit went every direction. House is mostly ok. We are all fine and that’s all that matters.

Our neighbor passed last week, after a brief (2 week) cancer battle. Wonderful woman, and her husband and other family members are devastated.
I knew she had been great at raising bottle calves, but in 27 years of dairy, she raised 840, and only lost 4.
