@graaace_howarth you probably know, as we do, that filtering and individual avoidance are powerless against a systemic problem that can only be solved by a reduction in production. We need to look upstream not downstream. A strong #GlobalPlasticsTreaty can achieve this.

And just to qualify - the answer to this sh*t show is NOT to “beef up plastic recycling”, it’s to reduce manufacturing, reduce pointless products and mindless consumption of them and for governments to implement real circularity and reuse systems to stop waste at source.

This is horrible. What can we do? Press our governments and industry for a reduction in plastic manufacturing. Plus culture change to increase reuse and stop overproducing pointless plastic products (this needs democratic deliberation)
