"You want stadiums filled? We fill them. You want role models for your boys and girls, we have them... We've done all of that, there's no reason we are underpaid for the exception of gender." - Megan Rapinoe
Scott Franklin (R-FL): "Is it unfair for biological women to compete with trans athletes?"
"I think it would be unfair to marginalize anyone by gender."
@mPinoe
2,000 plus minutes of soccer over 23 matches - and now we drink.
A more formal thanks will be coming later but just wanted to say we appreciate everyone who followed along with this amazing tournament over the last month.
Just your friendly reminder that if you want to support women's sports, you can start by watching the
@NWSL
Challenge Cup opener tomorrow night at 8:30PM ET on CBS Sports Network.

See you there.

captain Becky Sauerbrunn said the loss from the 2016 Rio Olympics against Sweden was one of the worst results the national team had in a world tournament. She said it lit a fire within this team and "it's rich that we get to play them in our first game."
#TokyoOlympics
It was this time 2 years ago when the US were struggling in the Olympics and I remember a lot of players saying how they lost their joy; looks like that is still missing here today.
The San Diego Loyal walked off the field in protest Wednesday night, saying a Phoenix Rising player used an anti-gay slur directed at openly-gay midfielder Collin Martin.
Manager Landon Donovan discussed the incident with the referee and Phoenix head coach Rick Schantz.
Over 20 years and 300 CAPS and now Christine Sinclair has an Olympic gold medal. An incredibly deserving player who has given so much to this game. Congratulations

"For someone how has played sports with someone who is trans, all is well... I stand with my trans community and anyone who has been marginalized by gender." Megan Rapinoe
The USWNT plays Mexico tonight in the first of their two final matches before they leave for Tokyo. And if you listen closely to the PA you'll hear a familiar voice in the stadium...
(It's me. I'm the PA tonight. Tune in, 7:30 ET on FS1).
"What is often missed is on the investment side. The USWNT is a business, we have a product, we sell around that product. With the lack of investment, we don't really know the real potential of women's sports."

There’s a new Philly sports fan in town! So excited to introduce my daughter Francesca “Frankie” Rose - born on 4/6 and already the love of our lives 💜
I'm on my way to Portland right now for this weekend's first match on ESPNews and I cannot be more excited and grateful to join this amazing crew of broadcasters and help cover such an incredible league.
WE’RE BACK!!!!
Feels like Christmas morning out on the field today. Join us at 12:30 EST as the

#doop
As if I wasn’t excited already about quarterfinals starting today - I just got a free coffee from our coffee truck at the stadium thanks to some amazing
@NWSL
supporters. Thanks to everyone who made my iced coffee dreams come true this morning!

I don’t even know where to begin to express my sadness about the passing Grant Wahl. While we never met in person, he was always so kind and generous with his time and one of my favorite people to talk soccer with. My deepest and sincere condolences to his family and friends.
With today being the final regional broadcast for
@PhilaUnion
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved in the crew over the last 7 years and to everyone who watched at home. It’s been such a joy to be part of this club and I can’t wait to see how the playoffs go!
1 of the many reasons your vote matters is that the President appoints Supreme Court justices. A position people hold until they die. RGB was a fighter for gender equality & now her seat is open. If you care about what she stood for, make sure you VOTE for someone who does too.
It will never get old to me that
@LoriLindsey6
playing rights are still up for grabs.
Someone, take a chance on her. Her hair is already in mid-season form.
I just want everyone to know they’re playing The Wobble in the stadium and I’m doing everything in my power not to participate. That’s how much of a professional I am!
"What we know is how successful women's sports has been in the face of gender inequality. This isn't about what's in my bank account, it's about the next generation reaching the full potential in the sport."

"Is there a petition we could start to just, like, play here more often and have this many people?" - Megan Rapinoe on playing at Lumen Field.
NWSL Twitter, do your thang.
Plenty of postgame praise for Lumen Field from the Reign side, as expected, but Megan Rapinoe's full thoughts on wanting more & wanting it sooner really stick out considering the Reign are 1 of 2 NWSL teams on a baseball field and the pandemic slowed the Tacoma stadium project.
One of the biggest joys in my career is sharing it with my family, especially this guy right here. My Uncle Nemo is 90 years old and loves soccer more than anything. I’m always setting him up with the new streaming service and he always gets such a kick out of seeing me on TV.
"I want more justice. I want better policies. I want players to be protected. At the same time, I feel like we are on the right path and I'm grateful for everyone who has reached out and supported us."
Cannot commend these women enough for their incredible bravery & strength.
Sinead Farrelly and Mana Shim, joined by Alex Morgan, spoke on camera to
@TODAYshow
about about sexual abuse allegations in the

. Watch the entire interview here.
If you can see her - you can be her.
The USWNT not only has had success on the field in the likes of World Cups and Olympic gold medals - but they've also inspired the next generation of women soccer players. That is huge.
Just a bit of what Carli Lloyd had to say after tonight’s match at Subaru Park. What an honor it’s been to watch one of the greatest ever give it her all for the last 16 years.
My dad loved 3 things in life; his family, being Italian, & soccer. I’m so grateful he passed that love on to me and humbled that I get to remember him on Father’s Day by covering the game we both loved so much on national TV.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
The NWSL is back - AGAIN.
The NWSL Fall Series kicks off today at 1PM EST on CBS!
@jennhildreth
and
@LoriLindsey6
are calling all the action while I patrol the sidelines. See you there!
Eating cookies in bed, watching Game 7, and going over notes for tomorrow's NWSL Game of the Week.
I guess you can file this under "living my best life".
No biggie just met living legend
@BillieJeanKing
today. She came to surprise
@chiredstarsPR
at training today ahead of their semifinal match tomorrow. Supporting women in sport as always!
