Prep Step: Being on time or a tad late optimizes the chances on multiple ground balls types. Early results in false steps that limit the amount of plays a fielder can make. On time or a little late allows for more information off the barrel and allows for a decision on descent.

Being on time allows you to set up in front of the bag and walk the tight rope down the line. Adjustability and versatility come from starting in front. If you’re late or set up in the middle, you have no chance at these tags.
