The Medical Research Future Fund has grown far beyond its target. Why is so much of the money unused? https://t.co/J8ladcONiB via @ConversationEDU

Trump’s war on science is threatening even Australian research projects. So why does a growing pot of medical research funds remain unallocated?

This is a positive step towards equity. However, like all recommendations it comes down the the effectiveness of implementation and the fact that the true cost of research is never covered by our funding models. Will be interesting to see how big pharma adopt these. @PeterMacRes
For the first time, WHO offers recommendations for national health authorities, regulators, and funders to improve clinical trials. The guidance addresses issues like poor trial design, lack of diversity and inclusion of at-risk populations, infrastructure gaps, and

Great study. This approach should underpin any implementation - you need to know barriers and facilitators from a funding, guideline, institutional, and clinician level. Systems thinking is one methodology. Of course local factors including culture will differ between orgs.
🥳🥳High need to adopt systems-thinking into all #supponc practices! Never lack evidence for exercise & diets in #survonc, but we need to pull the RIGHT LEVERS to make it happen! https://t.co/pnBLlcWCDO

Half of all non relapse mortality deaths in CAR-T are due to infection - optimising a collaborative model of care, sepsis pathways and prophylaxis strategies are all important.
Just out @NatureMedicine meta-analysis >7600 CAR T pts led by @DavidCdSMD & @KRejeski - Non-relapse mortality post CAR-T = 6.8% - highest w ciltacel (15%) & brexucel (10.6%) - axicel (7%) > tisa-/lisocel (4%) for LBCL - 51% of NRM deaths from infection https://t.co/8X9saqQa7d

Improvement toolkits & good practice databases are useful but they only take us so far. As much as 80% of the knowledge in an organisation isn't written down. It's not a failure of documentation. it's to do with the nature of the knowledge and the way it gets spread. That's why

Don’t forget PETs role in other diseases like infections/granulomatous diseases/vasculitis.
Dr. Seth Gammon says he hopes PET scans and SUV numbers can be used to further personalize cancer care. “We’re always researching ways to make this technology work toward better treatments and prevention.” https://t.co/oa0rBhmuwy
