Pretty busy, @AleixEspargaro left hand. This is what I think the levers do: a cluch (just to get away), a two fingers rearbrake, an index finger operates the fork starting device, a thumb operated rear ride height. Probably: index is manuel and thump is automatic RH.

Moto3 racing at @MotoGP is all about 'marginal gains'. A few Nm here and there in the powerband can make all the difference on these small engined bikes. This here is @KTM_Racing 's way of working with the pulses in the exhaust gases. @ZS_Racing

Rossi is just 1,3 sec slower than the fastest man of FP2, and this makes him the slowest man of day 1 here at the @MotoGP in Valencia. During qualifying in 2011 here, that - 1.3 sec would have meant P5. Things have changed a bit over time ;-)

Is this the Vinalez secret? The new carbon clutch is heavier to activate and I think that is why they came up with this combi. The rider sets via a cable-operated switch if the LH lever operates the clutch or the rear brake. Clutch is only for the race start. @matoxley @GPMag_

More than half of Moto2 bikes have replaced their drive-by-wire throttle with an 'old skool' cable controlled throttle. This is because of the better feedback, the more 'natural' feeling that riders can get with the engine. Crucial for controlling the slide, improving the drive.

This black hose, when hit by a tire, creates a pressure wave that triggers the tracklimit sensor. It’s around 100 mm behind the curb. A MotoGP rear tire is 200 mm wide, So a rear tire that’s only halfway over the curb can trigger the sensor. Not easy to judge for a rider.

Going to tweet this photo again and again because every time I look at Binder's rear tyre and then his front tyre it makes me smile and I'm sure you feel the same 📸 Rob Gray (Polarity Photo)

Sprint race @MotoGP in Jerez turned out to be a shocker with 14 (!) crashes. My theory: This mornings rain has come back up trough the tarmac creating wet spots without actual rain. Have seen this happen at this place before. @matoxley @GPMag_

8mm threads might seem overdone for a push/pull rod from a quickshifter on a @MotoGP bike. But it was here in Jerez, in 2019, that Fabio's podium place went up in smoke because the 6mm version used at the time on the @YamahaMotoGP M1 just broke.

My world is fine: all trucks are lined up in the Spanisch sunshine and there is a racing bicycle behind the Aprilia pitbox. Roll on the @MotoGP race weekend in Jerez! @matoxley @GPMag_

Once upon a long ago, people in the small country of Holland where quite good at tuning small two stroke bikes. This Kreidler here belongs to 2 x world champion Jan de Vries. At 76 yeard old, Jan still rides it regularly, and properly fast. Picture by @motomatters

When elektronics are not allowed to actuate the rear ride height device, but you so badly want it to sink automatically, this is what you end up with; a plumbers nightmare. Still bloody impressive.

A @YamahaMotoGP charging unit. It maintain's the pressure in the reservoir of the pneumatic valve springs of their @MotoGP bikes in between rides. Pneumatic valve springs are used at high revving engines, except for Ducati of course, who have their clever Desmodromic valve gear.

Thats how the delicate balance of real hard braking in MotoGP looks like. Note that his foot is still on the peg, ready to grab some rearbrake in case the Engine Brake is confused again at the moment he's about to turn in. Tyres are Marc's favorite combi: Hard front & Soft rear.

Anyone out here recognize the shape of the backrest from this new bench, resently placed here, close to my house?

Had an interesting interview in Portimao for the 'Oxley Bom MotoGP'podcast with Ducati's video analyst and rider coach Manuel Poggiali. How you tell a double world champion that he has to change his lines? Thanks to Ducati Lenovo. #oxleybommotogp .com @MotoGP @GPMag_ @matoxley

The @ForwardRacingGP Moto2 team has there own chassis. Unusual approach by bolting the chassis together. Adjustable lateral flex? @matoxley @GPMag_
