Lawyers discussing the MDC raid in court today. Apparently the authorities “locked everyone in and they turned off the water” so inmates couldn't flush contraband. At least one detainee being transported had trouble getting a meal
The law enforcement operation is “designed to achieve our shared goal of maintaining a safe environment for both our employees and the incarcerated individuals housed at MDC Brooklyn,” the agency said. https://t.co/BQpciRYS4r

The judge at one point got mad at Tacuri when he appeared to smile as victims were speaking. "You have to take that smirk off your face because it is very disrespectful." Tacuri apologized, said that wasn't his intention

The reason is likely Sean Combs' recent addition of attorney Anthony Ricco to his defense team. Judge Carter has known Ricco for a long time from his past in the defense bar and in legal aid society circles
🚨🚨 Sean Combs judge has left the case and it was reassigned to Judge Arun Subramanian. Judge Andrew L. Carter, Jr is no longer assigned. This is interesting in that this newly appointed judge clerked for Ruth Bader Ginsburg. One reason may be is that there is no time waiver.

Now: NYC Mayor Adams enters the chilled ceremonial courtroom in Manhattan federal court. Gallery is mostly press and clerks, again. He touches the arm of an elderly lady in purple sweater as he strides in. Adams smirks as he walks. He & atty Alex Spiro @quinnemanuel sit down.

One doesn't "want to paint the guy as a rich guy who the jury shouldn't care about," the judge said. "I'm going to exclude that evidence."
