💔Every person who says it’s “Left vs. Right” or “Democrats vs. Republicans” or “Us vs. Them” is doing nothing to bring our country together. It’s only creating more division. Let’s start a new chapter! Love Thy Neighbor. Seriously!🙏🏼 #jesus

💜Did you know? Because a group of South Texans formed a Suicide Prevention task force in 2019, legislation designated September as Suicide Prevention Month in Texas. This helps make it OK to talk about such a sensitive subject. Let’s save lives together. #suicidepreventionmonth

☝🏼KNOW THE FACTS! Please see below.
HB 8 would replace 1 STAAR test w/ THREE STAAR tests a year. Don’t be fooled by the claim that HB 8 eliminates the STAAR. If anything, it replaces it w/ a big black hole that sucks all remaining joy out of the classroom. We need less testing in our neighborhood schools, not more

We at the Alamo are saddened to hear of the passing of legendary musician Ozzy Osbourne. His relationship with the Alamo was marked initially by a deeply disrespectful incident in 1982. This act profoundly and rightfully upset many who hold this site sacred.

🚨Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz just toured “Alligator Alcatraz” and came out shaking: “It’s 34 people per cage. They drink, brush, and defecate in the same tiny unit. The photos don’t come close to the stench of it.” We’re packing human beings into kennel conditions, then

@KeathaB @GinaForAustin Every time the system gets to a point where kids are successful, the state changes the rules. They cant justify killing public education if it’s successful. So they change the test and change the game to ensure kids are not successful.

@GinaForAustin Dear Tax Payers, I taught 3rd STAAR 2.0 Eight year old Texans are being asked to TYPE a five paragraph essay. Imagine that as a 3rd grader. And, do you know how a 3rd grader types? One. Key. At. A. Time. Peck. Peck. Peck. 🤦♀️ And that’s just one question on the test.

May I present to you the STAAR test:
@GinaForAustin I love how they never set the passing standard until after the test has been administered. So it's like being put in a round room in the dark, blindfolded, spun in circles, then told to hit a bullseye you can't see. It's always been a rigged game.

These are just 4 examples that don’t even address things brought up in the STAAR lawsuits, ex: faulty AI grading of written answers, retroactive standards, etc. Big picture: TEA Commissioner Mike Morath creates the STAAR & manipulates scores. Read below https://t.co/scCkKZ2wHl

A deep dive into the test’s framework suggests it was designed to fail about the same share of students every year, even if they’d made actual progress from previous years.

Districts are being punished for doing right by kids: In Austin ISD, middle schools are in trouble because a high % of 7th graders take Accelerated Math—those kids don’t take 7th grade STAAR (they take 8th grade STAAR). So the best math performers are absent from 7th grade data.

The honorable Senator would have you believe the same isd folks who got steamrolled over ESAs somehow had the power to stop this bill. The original house bill without senate changes was widely supported.
Here's the true story with what happened to HB 4, the STAAR test replacement bill. The Senate and the House had a very good CCR, (Conference Committee Report), that combined the proposed three test replacement House Bill pattern for the STAAR test with the upgraded language in my
