The Fully Fund Our Future Act, #HB177, brings Texas schools into the national average in per student funding. For too long our neighborhood schools have had to go without & Texas teachers have been underpaid. The bill gives #TxEd teachers a much-deserved 15K teacher pay raise.

Look at the date. It was issued TODAY. While Search & Recovery is ongoing, this black-hearted governor added a partisan power grab to a 30 day agenda that should be all about ensuring this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. I am often disappointed in @GregAbbott_TX but this is revolting.

This Governor just told the world he DOESN’T GIVE A DAMN about doing the real work of governing to keep Texans safe after the horrific July 4th floods. @GregAbbott_TX just added congressional redistricting to a 30 day Special Session that should be laser focused on saving lives.

Texans are self-reliant, resilient & we help our neighbors. But we need government to perform its basic function of building infrastructure. This Special Session let’s dispense w/the politics & come together w/a singular agenda to build a Texas that saves lives. 3/3.

Texas is ill prepared for the now regular barrage of extreme weather. From the Hill Country to the Coast historic flooding is increasingly taking lives, homes, & devastating business. Investing in needed infrastructure up front saves lives & personal costs. 2/3.

And it will grow bigger. The taxpayer-funded voucher program has already surpassed its supposed $1 Billion cap allocation. They are just getting started.
