Food scales designed for home use are not calibrated in the same manner; therefore the measurement of weight will vary slightly, much like that of a home scale and a doctor's office scale. We hope this helps to clarify our weight system, and alleviate any of your concerns. ~Eliza.

@PerdueChicken We review, along with the USDA, the scales daily to ensure that all weights are set correctly. Consumers do not pay for packaging materials, only for the net weight of the product. The local departments of weights and measures regulate this.

Each processing facility has an allergen control policy. The facility is required to follow two steps. The product with an allergen present should be processed last in the production sequence for the day which ensures that no cross contamination will take place.

While other companies might include animal by-products in the diets they feed their animals (things like blood and bones), at Perdue, we never put any animal by-products in the food we provide to our animals. ~Eliza.
