. I get going for a set menu meal is an expensive endeavour, but being hit with hidden charges pushing up the cost of dinner for two by nearly 75 quid really takes some of the shine off the experience - and I'm not green to this kind of dining out. 😓.

. no communication we'd be charged for it & no option presented for just having tap water. Also being charged 'service charge' (for two of us) without that being clear up front on menu or when booking, it just feels like you're being coralled & having the piss taken out of you. .

Just been for a superb meal. food, ambience and wine pairing all absolutely spot on. Fun, competent and all immaculately prepared. Scanned the bill at the end. Charged £12 for two glasses of water. Feel pretty disgusted at it. No option given for just having tap water. .

Little bit of nosing around some woods today and found some lovely green cones, wild mint and tonnes of blackberries. Brother is going to make some dey-hopped cider for later in the year. Crumble and hedgerow salad are incoming to compliment our BBQ!

Paying a visit to family next weekend down in Reading, so am at their mercy as to where we are going. Thankfully, a trip to @SirenCraftBrew's new gaff in on the cards and heading over to Two Flints for a bit. Obvs, the Nags will be on our hitlist too. Anywhere else new? 😃
