Nothing new, all things teachers around the country will be doing already and not an exhaustive list, just examples to try to be helpful. 😊.

- Initially, set factual and less complex questions and tasks. - Provide scaffold and prompts to aid retrieval. - Allowing for preparation by altering pupils of the topics or questions that are going to form the retrieval practice in advance. - Allow paired retrieval practice.

Adaptive retrieval.- Space and repeat retrieval to increase long-term retention. - Initially, give shorter delays between learning, retrieval and re-retrieval. - Provide opps for re-learning after unsuccessful retrieval practice. - Simple to complex questions.

Addressing incorrect answers through the teacher or another pupil stating the correct answer and this being repeated verbally by the individual pupil or whole class, or explaining the answer and setting another similar problem for the pupils to complete.

- Asking simpler questions or breaking the question down into smaller chunks. - Giving increased thinking time. - Allow pupils have struggled to answer correctly to participate in a paired discussion. - Provide pupils with sentence starters for preparing verbal responses.

- Reducing the size of the task – Giving pupils a smaller task to complete can enable them to complete the task to a higher standard. Adaptive questioning.- Increased rehearsal opportunities - by asking pupils to recite answers. - Provide additional prompts or helpful info.
