Got a call seeming from Centerpoint energy saying my power is going to be cut off for lack of payment and I need to make an immediate payment to prevent having power cut off and having to pay reconnection fees, etc. So, do they want a credit card number, no they can't over. .

Back in 1950, before anti-vaxers, everyone was desperate for a Polio vaccine. My 8-14 yo aunt and uncles helped hold a fundraiser to support the vaccine effort. They raised $108.50, equivalent to $1232 today! These kids helped change the world for so many others!

Sad to hear my old colleague Rick Gray passed away. Rick was always the nicest and most helpful person you would every want to meet. It was a great asset to have him at BCM when I was starting up my lab many, many years ago. .

The Republican effort to pass laws that make it harder to vote is a striking example of how racist behavior costs everyone, not just minorities. This is a way too old story well told and chronicled by @hmcghee in #TheSumofUsBook. Time to put a stop to it.

Then anonymized info could be included allowing mapping of how preferences match what a representative in your district voted for, differences in income, tax paid, etc vs preferences in different parts of the country. And you could view how your choices affect your region.

Would citizens be more into infrastructure, education, anti-poverty, green spending, or military, police, prisons, etc? I know there are surveys like this, but I am thinking more like an add on to TaxCut, or other tax software to submit your preferences.

I would like to see a web site where you could vote for how you would like your own tax dollars spent. Wouldn't be binding, but I am curious what people would vote for compared to their representatives. Also how their decisions would differential affect the states.
