Carney is what he is. A red Tory. Many of his domestic policies are worth criticizing from a progressive pov. He's also pretty much the only person l can see leading Canada through the betrayal being committed by our former ally, partner and friend.

no, no! after Norman Mailer stopped drinking he was warmly gregarious, funny, just a great guy--a mensch. I think he was deeply mortified by his brash young self in the shadow of Hemingway. no one knows today what a shadow Hemingway cast, how deforming to many (male) writers.

when i became a stay at home mom nearly a decade ago, i did not know how to run a household. i read blogs and joined fb groups and listened to podcasts and learned to meal plan and how to grocery shop on a budget and made cleaning schedules. it was not "natural." it was work.
