I think it's very valid to show that claudia's reality as a black girl/woman is very different from lestat's privileged perception as a white man with a lot of power.

The scene HAPPEND. That's literally how claudia remembered it. Maybe lestat didn't intend to traumatise her, seen himself as benevolent and he's upset that's how she wrote about it but he fcking did it still.The whole premise of this show is pov and memory shape how we see things.
