I think that many people don’t realize how little paraprofessionals are paid so I made a little chart to show metro Atlanta salaries. These are for a first year para WITH a bachelors degree. Just FYI.

Well, it’s a wrap! ✌️After ten years in education, today was my last day in the classroom. I cannot begin to thank all of the amazing people I’ve met while on this journey and I’m so sad to leave my Parkside family, but I’m very excited to begin my new job at the public library.

Appalachia is drowning, Florida is destroyed, and Atlanta is covered in a chlorine haze and we aren’t allowed to go outside. And we’re supposed to act like everything is okay? Life is scary and hard and unfair.

I’m at a loss for words about today’s school shooting. My favorite teacher from high school is a principal there and I’ve been waiting all afternoon to hear if he’s okay. Praying for everyone involved and praying that someday schools can be a safe place. Something has to change.
