Creation of Percolation tanks and Ponds are part of Soil Moisture Conservation works in this Bundelkhand Region. This ensures ground water recharge and also water for wildlife. One such SMC work of PTR before and after Rain.

The red-headed vulture, also known as the Asian king vulture, Indian black vulture or Pondicherry vulture, is an Old World vulture mainly found in the Indian subcontinent. It can be easily seen in Panna Tiger Reserve.

Panna Tiger Reserve is home for number of Red headed vultures. Numerous cliffs, enough food to scavenge and awareness created by PTR authorities regarding dis-use of Diclofenac, made PTR, a safe home for vultures. Few vulture points in PTR are open for tourists.

Panna Tiger Reserve has a happy news to share. Tigress P141 in her third litter has given birth to two cubs in Madla Range. The cubs are 2-3 months old and seems to be doing fine.
Monsoon patrolling is part and parcel of Tiger Reserve management inorder to stop encroachment and poaching. During monsoon, Forest roads become inaccessible,so, our PTR staffs patrol on foot to protect this pristine landscape. Today FD and DD of PTR joined with patrolling team

The sloth bear (Melursus ursinus) is a myrmecophagous bear species native to the Indian subcontinent. It feeds on fruits, ants, and termites. It is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. It is widely present in Panna Tiger Reserve.

All 7 species of Vultures out of 9 in India, reached Panna Tiger Reserve. One can witness vultures dominating Sehas of Panna Tiger Reserve at Dhundhwa Seha, the vulture point at Hinauta range, Panna Tiger Reserve.
The tiger is a unique animal which plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem. The presence of tigers in the forest is an indicator of the well being of the ecosystem. Happy International Tiger Day.
