Early this afternoon, a small aircraft made a hard landing on the runway at the Palo Alto Airport and suffered some damage. No one was transported to the hospital for injuries. Less than a gallon of fuel was cleaned up by fire crews with hose lines deployed in the case of fire.

Firefighters from Palo Alto Fire Dept and CAL FIRE Santa Clara & San Mateo/Santa Cruz Units participated in a joint technical rope rescue and air rescue exercise in Foothills Park. This training simulated an injured hiker on a remote trail. @PaloAltoFire @CALFIRECZU @PAranger

A glimpse into Joint Fire Academy 2021-1 life…Last week recruits studied wildland firefighting tactics and received hands-on training in preparation for their careers as firefighters. Shoutout to @PaloAltoFire for allowing us to use their facilities at Station 8 (Foothill Park).
