Good news: The Tsunami Advisory for the Bay Area has been cancelled. Conditions were monitored throughout the night. No impacts were reported in Sunnyvale, and conditions remained calm throughout the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tsunami Advisory for the Bay Area and Central Coast following an 8.7 magnitude earthquake near Kamchatka. Estimated wave arrival times:.Monterey: 12:15 AM.San Francisco: 12:40 AM (July 30).Sunnyvale is not in a coastal zone!

Over the weekend, members of the Sunnyvale DPS Gang Enforcement Team (GET) conducted proactive patrols throughout the city. These efforts led to arrests, including a minor found in possession of an assault weapon and a parolee caught with a controlled substance. DPS is on it!

Today at approximately 3:12p, officers from Sunnyvale DPS responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a jewelry store on 1000 block of East El Camino Real. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact E. Rosette at 40-730-7110.
