The large police presence is in response to an officer involved shooting. Our officers are fine, suspect is still outstanding. Staging area for media will be at the Post Office at Malabar and Jupiter. A press conference will be held shortly.
Officers are on scene for an active incident in the area of Lexington and Americana in NE Palm Bay. We are asking for residents to avoid the area. There is no threat to the public at this time.
10:50 am | ADVISORY! Palm Bay PD is asking residents to stay out of the area surrounding US1 and Conlan. We have received reports of an explosion in the area and have teams working the scene.
Don’t give criminals free information. Be aware of the personal information you give out by adding special bumper stickers and decals to your vehicle. These small clues can be used by criminals to target you, so be careful and skip the decals!

After 31 years of service, Chief Nelson Moya has announced his retirement from the Palm Bay Police Department. Chief Moya has accepted a position in New York and will begin his new job in March. Deputy Chief Mario Augello will serve as Acting Chief upon Moya’s separation.

detectives obtained arrest warrants for Steven Stefanik DOB 12/17/70 in connection with the June 28th bank robbery. Stefanik was located in Volusia County by the US Marshal's Task Force with assistance from BCSO GameOver

On Saturday, June 3, 2023, our former Chief of Police Doug Muldoon was inducted into the Florida Law Enforcement Officers’ Hall of Fame in Tallahassee, Florida! Chief Muldoon retired from our agency in 2015 after a remarkable 38-year career with us.

Did you know that the Palm Bay Police Department has four certified Drug Recognition Experts who specialize in the enforcement of DUI related laws and identifying someone who is under the influence? Always make sure you have a plan to get home safely; never drink and drive!
The Police Department has heroes too. This month the Space Coast Kennel Club came to the rescue when they heard the K-9 unit was in desperate need safety equipment. The members donated $5,700. to ensure each dog has a safe vehicle compartment and heat alarm.
