Fossil hunter and paleo nerd who has somehow gotten a following of 190k subscribers. Also his little friend TimTim. 👀

Real talk everyone...
If I was born into the Avatar universe... I think we all know what element I would be bending... 👀
How about you? What nation would you be born into?

#AvatarTheLastAirbender

Am I the only one who actually laughed the moment they said Atrociraptor on the final episode of Prehistoric Planet? Like the BBC had to get one last dig on the Jurassic franchise! 🤣
I love it!
To be honest I actually considered keeping Apple TV... But then I looked at the rest of their digital library and realized there was nothing else on there I want to watch...
Everyone loves to speculate about Gigantopithicus and what it was like...
Giant gorilla?
Bigfoot?
Florida man?
No... none of the above. You know who is probably the closest thing to an accurate depiction of this animal? 2016s The Jungle Book.
I will die on this hill. 👀
Why do people think that the existence of climate change before humans is a way to argue against the fact that 8 billion large mammals living in an industrial society that runs on burning fossil fuels IS effecting the climate?
Again, that is not a political option. 👀
Fun fact: originally I wanted to make my channel logo a Thylacoleo skull because it's one of my favorite prehistoric animals. The only reason why I went with Smilodon was because Nancy said that would be way more recognizable. People who don't know would think it's a rat skull...
Went down a bit of an internet rabbit hole just now. Found out the answer to a question I never would have guessed...
Evidently this is why poaching has actually been decreasing in the past few years. 👀
Every so often, one human breaks the mold and truly becomes the best of us. We didn't deserve you in the 90s...
And ever since you left, it's all been downhill from there.

You know, everyone hates on Jurassic Park for it's inaccurate dinosaurs... But I would watch the hell out of a alternative JP with genetically engineered Crystal Palace monsters.
I really need to get some sleep...

Like so many in my generation Steve touched my life in ways I cannot begin to describe. Happy birthday Steve, rest easy knowing that through your family and the army of wildlife warriors you taught all over the world, your work will continue.

You might not know this about me but I'm a nerd...
Like not just a Paleo nerd. I like D&D, Transformers, Pokémon, ATLA, and a bunch of other stuff.
And sometimes I wanna talk about other things.
So what are all of you into besides Paleontology? 👀
Today I'm thinking about Barylambda, a little known mammal for the early Cenozoic era who probably resembled a ground sloth but was actually part of a family that has no modern descendants today.

"Where have you been?"
"Why has your content slowed down?"
"When's the next History of the Earth coming out?"
I get these questions every single day and the truth is I don't know how to respond... because the fact is I'm not doing okay...
It's 3:30am...
And I'm laying in bed thinking about what dinosaurs may have built intricate nests like this with a preference for certain colors...
...Why am I like this...

I love Xenarthrans. And I love bringing attention to some of the lesser known ones from prehistory.
This is Diablotherium, a sloth around the size of a Chimpanzee that lived in the mountains of Peru during the Late Pleistocene.
Someday, in the distant future, the History of the Earth series will be complete.
When that day comes, I will be looking for an animation artist to commission for the me and TimTim's final forms.
If you are an animation artist, and you would be, let me know!
You know it was a good day of fossil hunting when you get undressed at the end of the day and matrix falls all over the floor. 👀
Also look at dis beautiful Gomphothere jaw!
So real talk, some day in the future I might end up making a second channel about other stuff. Maybe something a little bit more fun like finally making a world building project like
@TalesofKaimere
Who would tune in for my ridiculous ass getting creative?
I don't always share my Instagram posts here (idk, maybe I should) but today's post is about one of my all time favorite prehistoric animals, so why not!👀

Menoceras is the most common animal of Agate Springs, illustrating the incredible biodiversity of North American ungulates 20 million years ago. To learn more, check out our paleo-documentary series Forgotten Bloodlines: Agate on Kickstarter! Link in thread and bio. 🧵1/7
So I have recently received a lot of feedback where people are wanting me to make a video about Terror Birds! And today Tales of Kaimere made a video on the subject! So go check it out!

you just dropped a whole episode dedicated to weird variants of Diiocynodonts... I think that counts at least as a fuax Triassic harvest.
"Do the next History of the Earth video."
There's a part of me that wants to push the production of that series back an extra day when I see that.
I love the series and I know it's popular but it's a lot of work and I refuse to burn myself out again. So I'll take my time.
I will survive.
I have to... If I don't, everything that I have talked about and taught people about for years will have meant nothing.
I have been hurt, but I am now in recovery. I am evolving, adapting to the changes after a disaster has taken place in my life... (1 of2)
But you know what animals from the Paleogene nobody ever talks about, Titanotheres!
These guys look like rhinos but are a different branch of perissodactyls who lived mostly in the Eocene.
Included are some photos of the skull my mentor recovered and a vert and rib I found.
@Skullbottle_art
Donkeys don't fuck around. That's why out here in Nebraska, cattle farmers will keep one or two on their ranches. They go after coyotes, snakes, or even mountain lions. So they use them to defend the herd.
Real talk everyone, I know everyone loves the History of the Earth series but what should I do if I've literally been struggling with a script for the Triassic video for weeks... I love doing those videos but I gotta be in the right place to do em and I haven't been lately...
Thalassocnus might be one of the coolest animals ever. It was a sloth trying to be an otter.
That just warms my heart
I need to make a video about these someday.❤️

Woo 125,000 subscribers! It's mind blowing! I started this year with 1,250 subs, so we've literally grown to 100× the size we were at the start of the year!
Thank you everyone who has joined us on this journey!
My mentor loves to give me crap for focusing so much on Paleozoic stuff on my channel because he specializes in Cenozoic fauna 😑...
Last night I finally told him "alright Boomer, if you don't think I'm doing this right then how bout you go make a YouTube channel?"
I'm sorry.... What?......👀
I actually have absolutely no idea what James Woods politics are. (nor do I care)
I guess I should explain since I was not clear before... The joke is that James Woods voices Hades in Hercules...
....Also.... Hades and Satan are not the same. 👀
I've gotten a lot of comments from people horrified by the fact that this creature use to live on this planet.
Have you ever played Ark: Survival Evolved before?
If the answer is no, and this thing scares you, maybe don't. 😂

And yeah, I know this is causing me to lose the chance of a lifetime to do something with my life that I'm really passionate about... but I don't know if I can fix myself...
