Happy #dinovember #FossilFriday!. Keeping with our theme of highlighting some African dinosaurs, next up is a theropod from the Jurassic of Niger. Afrovenator abakensis, the African hunter from Abaka, was estimated to be 7 metres long and weighed about a one metric tonne.

Musankwa is a sauropodomorph dinosaur, and these dinosaurs are important for understanding how we get gigantic sauropods later on. Musankwa is one of four named dinosaurs from Zimbabwe during its time and shows us that there are still more fossils to find.
