This is insane! Diesel generators mostly, and traffic are suffocating people and the most vulnerable (young & old) pay the dearest price. Clean air should be the top priority for Lebanon. @AlbertKostanian

No! The recurrent pattern of exclusionism that ignores internal diversity, cultural pluralism and the multilayered historical contexts is the paradox. Ethnic homogeneity is a myth and a major source of instability. It completely misrepresents and misinterprets our human nature.

Multiculturalism is actually a paradox. If you bring all cultures into one country, you destroy the ethnic culture of that country and you just lost a culture. This is globalism in a sense. True multiculturalism is for all countries to preserve their cultures individually.

Salaries in many institutions and all other financial transactions were paid in Lebanese Lira that was pegged to the “real dollar”. This is utter nonsense and deceit of the worst kind.

This statement by Riad Salame did not get enough attention yesterday, and the interviewer didn’t even realize what was being said. RS is saying that the old dollar deposits in the Lebanese banking system are originally LBP deposits that were converted to USD at some point in

Coffee…one of the few benefits of the agricultural revolution. Jared Diamond would agree with me on this one.

Cultivated in Mount Lebanon since many centuries, perhaps native… delicious, low in calories, rich in fibers and it is in season (Jujube=3nnab)
