Last week @chloergibbs @JeffDenning and @michelmorek put on a banger of a conference @nd_econ One of the highlights for me was getting to see one of my favorite colleagues present, something I don’t often get to see. Chloe is doing awesome work and gave a great presentation

Who remembers this absolute banger?🙋‍♀️ "[W]e show that the adoption of gender-neutral tenure clock stopping policies substantially reduced female tenure rates while substantially increasing male tenure rates." Antecol, Bedard, and Stearns (AER, 2018) https://t.co/evqmBmb5ur

This is a fascinating and really well-done paper on spillover consequences of the opioid epidemic. If you haven’t read @Viquibarone and Caroline Arteaga’s paper yet, hit up her GitHub at the link and get it. I promise, it’s orders of magnitude more insight than “Hillbilly Elegy.”

18 million U.S. adults don't have a high school diploma. In many states, after age 21 they are no longer eligible to receive one and must get a GED, which offers less promising outcomes. See how @LEOatND and @theexcelcenter are working to change that: https://t.co/jzSHQg7SVc

When it comes to public investment, evidence matters. @LEOatND's research shows that @TheExcelCenter grads see a 40% increase in earnings about 5 years after they first apply. This 'high school for adults' model is the most powerful workforce innovation in the last decade.
