There are rumblings on social media stating that your insurance company will not cover your vehicle during “Amber” or “Red” weather warnings if you drive. This is NOT the case. You will be covered provided you drive safely & no drink/drug offences are being committed. #myth.

If you are driving a car & you see a pothole you try to avoid it. so why would anyone expect cyclists to be any different?. If approaching a cyclist(s) they may suddenly change their road position & move out towards the centre of the road. Be patient, then pass when it's safe

#EdinburghRP stopped this cyclist after officers observed them cycling through a red light on Seafield Road. As a vulnerable road user it’s vital for their own safety that they comply with red traffic lights. They were issued with a conditional offer of £50 at the roadside.

#NERPU dont recommend driving when you know you have no licence. We also dont recommend going for a rasp around #Garioch in your turbo diesel with straight through exhaust trying to compete with the local fireworks display for noise levels. Driver reported and car seized.

#NationalMotorcycleUnit were out in Glasgow when this car came to their attention as it didn't move from a set of traffic lights. When it did, the driver was so intent on their phone they never noticed 2 marked police motorcycles driving alongside. 6 points £200 fine. #Fatal5

Great to see that people are following the advice not to travel unless your journey is essential. We know it can be a difficult choice to take a day off work, especially if you suffer financially, however unnecessary travel during weather warnings are extremely dangerous

#CycleMyths 2 - "Cyclists should always ride single file near the kerb". Truth - @HighwayCodeGB Rule 66 - never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends. Excellent video by @BritishCycling here.

During a wet and windy morning patrol in #Glasgow, officers from the #NationalMotorcycleUnit stopped 5 drivers who were driving whilst using their mobile telephones . Each was issued a fixed penalty ticket and they now face 6pts and a £200 fine. Is it really worth it ?

#GlasgowRP were on the #M74 the other day when this car caught their eye due to the speed at which it was being driven. The driver appeared to want to advertise the fact his driving is poor, so we provided a date for him to explain himself at the JP court 🤦🏻. #DontRiskIt.#Fatal5

As our vulnerable road user campaign finishes, we would like to dispell a common myth. There is nothing wrong with 🚴's riding two abreast. It makes it easier to pass them as it reduces their overall length. Here is a handy video to demonstrate this 👍.

It isn't all fast cars and chases in "Traffic". #GlasgowRP were caught "swanning around" in the West End earlier today. but it was all for a good cause. We spent 10 minutes ensuring this beauty was escorted out of harms way back to the safety of Victoria Park !

For some not so doom and gloom news - #GlasgowRP discovered one of our demo cars can transmit audio through the siren (without the siren being on). Turns out kids (and parents) still find it a bit magical hearing sleigh bells and the odd “Ho Ho Ho” on Christmas Eve. #DriveSafe.
