Turns out that the 26 year-old me thrives under deadlines?! So I’m giving myself one: that article I’ve been dwelling on for about a month? It’s getting written by *tomorrow*. Wish me luck and hold me accountable🙇‍♂️!.

The days I struggled to get out of enslavement, depression, and paralyzing fear were beautiful, but not nearly as beautiful as a normal day in the United States.🌈.

I'm thrilled to announce I've joined @rootsofprogress institute's 2025 fellowship program! Back in 2020, @jasoncrawford's RoP essays played a crucial role in saving me from apathy and making me fall in love with our technological society. Now it's time for me to do the same.

And that's true even when the lack of skill is due to a stubborn refusal to learn.

It's entirely possible to hold these two truths in mind at the same time:. 1. People have learned how to make the world full of meaning and beauty. 2. People haven't yet learned how to stop causing misery to themselves and to others.

I'm a super slow writer (My fastest turnaround has been 1 week). So I'm challenging myself to write, edit, and publish an article on America today. Wish me luck! 🇺🇸✍️.

A good and necessary reminder to us all: to fling away the idea of America because X is the President or the Supreme Court gives Y unjust decision should not even enter our notion of common sense.

I think about this all the time: real-life heroes don't wear capes. We brush past them on sidewalks, stand behind them in coffeeshops, completely unaware we're in the presence of someone who could transform our world.

RT @stephen_richer: Lots of really good reasons to object to Zohran Mamdani being mayor of NYC. That he's Muslim isn't one of them.

So basically, Iran somehow found out about the bombing in advance, took the enriched uranium out, and is now building nukes under the United States' protection. Listen. I don't know that much about Israel. All I know is that if Iran wins, the world is going to be a much worse.

"Zaife" is a feminine slur in Farsi that means "weakling." I heard men use it against women every day in Iran. It's poetic justice that they got to see a 30,000-pound bomb dropped by a "zaife" woman pilot.

Final Update: With a joyful heart, I am writing to share that Khashi and Sajad are now safe! We have successfully prevented their deportation to Iran! The process was incredibly complex and stressful. We could fill volumes describing everything we went through. Even just hours

UPDATE: We have successfully raised over $11,000! We now have what it takes to secure Khashi and Sajad's lives for a year!. I am so unfathomably thankful to everyone who donated. In a world where it's easy to feel overwhelmed by injustices beyond our control, they've chosen to

I'm much less worried about Isreal, and much more worried about what the regime will do to them now that it has the excuse of a war.

The most terrifying part is that when I call my mother, an automated voice answers, pretending to be a real person.

I have no news of my friends and family. Iran has cut off their internet and phones. And. that's frankly terrifying.
