So far this year, our family hubs have supported 23 families to move out of homelessness and into their own homes. These homeless services provide a supportive and safe environment for families with a key focus on supporting them into their forever home.

We're pleased to announce the appointment of Tony O’Brien as the new Chairperson of our Board of Directors. Mr. O’Brien brings a wealth of experience in healthcare, social and community services and corporate governance to the role.

Protecting vulnerable young people is at the core of the work and ethos of Peter McVerry Trust. In 2024, we supported 2,659 children across our services, including our family hubs, U18s residential services and learning centres.

Peter McVerry Trust is saddened by the passing of Pope Francis. As a member of the Jesuit order, his compassion, humanitarian efforts, commitment to social justice and dedication to those on the margins of society will be his enduring legacy. May he rest in peace.

On Saturday our Research & Policy Officer, Sara, presented at the @esai_irl Conference '25, showcasing the innovative methodologies used in an ongoing research project engaging with students in our Learning Centres. This work fosters voice, agency and rights for young people.

🌱 Last week, staff and participants at two of our services rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a Gardening Day - making the most of the sunshine to tend to green spaces, plant new life, and brighten up their surroundings. A huge thanks to everyone who took part. 🌞

📚 Today is #InternationalChildrensBookDay – a celebration of the magic of reading. All of our family hubs have dedicated play areas and cosy reading corners stocked with books to spark imagination and joy. Every child deserves the chance to explore and learn.

Our Junior Certificate students had an inspiring visit to @ucddublin last week, learning about alternative pathways to third-level education. It’s vital for young people to see what’s possible and know that education is for everyone - no matter their background or journey.
