Wonderful! Pupils have studied prints in Hokusai’s series ‘Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji’. They then made their own polystyrene printing block and a print from it.
Today we finished our Art topic on ‘Line’ after creating our own polystyrene printing block last week, we enjoyed using these today. (Armstrong Class) @PKCKST @DEMAT__

More wonderful curriculum enrichment with a school trip:
Year 3 explored Flag Fen to deepen their History learning on the Stone, Bronze & Iron Ages. They investigated artefacts, experienced Bronze Age life in roundhouses, and crafted bowls inspired by the era. A hands-on day of discovery! #PrimaryHistory @GreenwoodAcad @PKCKST

Curriculum enrichment through a school trip:
Yesterday, Year 2 enjoyed planning and walking the route from St Peter’s to Birmingham Newman University. The children spoke about the directions and reference points that we saw along our journey. #StPetersGeography.

Continuing our PKC topic 'All about me', Preschool learned about the important people in our community who help us. We talked about the people who help us in Wixams like the shopkeeper, the rubbish collectors and the teachers.

This unit includes a detailed analysis of modernism, looking at abstract art of the 20th century and pupils using their developing knowledge of colour theory to design and create their own abstract work using acrylic on canvas:
Year 5 have been exploring colour theory in art 🎨They used their knowledge of primary, secondary and complementary colours to create their own abstract paintings on a canvas, expressing feelings through colour and shape! 💛💙❤️#StPetersArt

Throughout this unit, children will have opportunities to use previously learned knowledge of their local area, they will use four figure grid references and apply them to a familiar map of the local area:

This Y6 class demonstrating wonderfully one of our divergent outcomes from our Y6 Art in the Italian Renaissance unit:
In Art this week, Y6 pupils have created their sun designs to paint on to the discs they have made. Pupils have been careful to use repeating patterns and used just lines closed shapes ready to paint next week. #KS2Art @PKCKST

Pupils finish this unit by creating cardboard sculptures from organic shapes, using Calder’s sculptures as inspiration. In doing so, they recall what they learnt about sculpture in year 1 (summer B).

Incredible! Year 4 have built on their Year 3 skills in tone, shading, and observational drawing. Using charcoal and chalk, they explored light and shadows by sketching fruit, developing contrast, texture, and form through refined mark-making. @PKCKST @GreenwoodAcad

The other day Year 2 finished off their Cooking unit by tasting and evaluating their pizza slices. They enjoyed the full cooking experience by listening to Italian music and even creating their own cooking school, Mrs Bird was so impressed with their work🍕#StPetersDT
