Everyone knows Docker. But most don't know the story behind it. Let me tell you how we got here. 20 years back, running an application meant buying a physical server. One that cost $50,000. You placed an order. Waited 2 weeks. Spent days installing the OS and configuring

Devops engineer role is all about “I will figure it out” mindset. If you got that, you will be great at Devops( where we deal with all sort of complex problems)

This is very true at least in my own experience but there is somehow a huge proclivity by many or even most to disagree with this.

There is far more good than evil in the world. We're just wired to be more sensitive to the latter.

During the next few days till the year ends, I will actually try to understand certain core DevOps or even tech concepts and technologies to have a solid foundation. For this period, I will rely less on hands-on and just try to understand how “things” work on a broader level.

Just looked into Linux shell scripting again and this is actually my first simple functional shell script which helps you open a file from any directory without specifying the path, I know I didn't write lines for checking if the file is found but was just testing.

Well, after learning basic ECS deployments I decided to try EKS and I found myself installing docker and kubernetes(kubectl) attempting for the past >48 hrs to deploy a simple python flask app without success. Apparently a networking issue and I don't know exactly where.

The DevOps hiring secret: Recruiters don't search for "completed 10 courses" They search for: - Kubernetes - Linux - GitOps - Terraform - CI/CD Have projects. Get found. Get hired.

For the past 48 hours, I had not been able to display or access the web app through the beanstalk domain. Environment health showed ok but still got a 403 nginx error, it turns out the issue almost the entire time was the filename smh.

The only, most important thing in Devops is the “ I Will Figure It Out” attitude.

Companies don't pay $200K for things that are easy. They pay $200K for things most people won't do. If you want easy, enjoy your $85K.
