Today’s the big day — our STM has arrived! 🥳.All 7 crates📦are now safely stored in the basement. Huge thanks to everyone involved, and a special shoutout to our technician Ole for making it all run so smoothly. Unpacking will happen in a couple of weeks — stay tuned!

Last week in the SuperC 2025 Summer workshop, our incoming postdoc Xiao Zhang joined the discussion on the pathways to increase the critical temperature of superconductors toward room temperature. He will start in July in our lab, working on MBE growth of superconductors.

This week Jacky is presenting our work at #QUANTUMatter2025 in the beautiful French Alps. In celebrating 100 years of quantum physics, we also contribute to it with our idea of tracking down 'poisoning' quasiparticles—a major issue in qubit operations—with atomic resolution.

Welcome our first PhD student – Shamarita Deb! Shamarita finished her master's thesis on quantum simulation using coupled photonic waveguides at TU Kaiserslautern. Shamarita started last week in our group and will be working on imaging vortices in unconventional superconductors.
