"we show that sixteen models contributing to the PAMIP simulate a weakening of mid-latitude westerlies in response to projected Arctic sea ice loss". "Still, the modelled response to Arctic sea ice loss is weak . around 10% of variations in individual years.".

". prescribed sea ice loss reduces poleward heat transport (PHT) by warming the returning moist isentropic circulation at high latitudes, while prescribed warming of the ocean surface increases PHT by strengthening the moist isentropic circulation.".
