Ann’s latest book, Relearning to Read: Adventures in Not-Knowing (2025) explores the unlearning that reading internationally requires, and celebrates how embracing incomprehension can help us read our world better and bring us together in all our difference and difficulty.

Working as a #translator doesn't only consist in one-way travel. Often the most challenging part of the translation learning curve is translating from your most comfortable language into your target language. 1/3

I loved Bristol Translates last year so much that I will forgive them for moving to my college's old rival, Teddy Hall 😉 (I was at Queen's) (Just kidding, TH is lovely - had a great formal hall there once and a Queen's friend married someone from there so they're alright!)
