Today we're highlighting Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan, a member of White Earth Band of Ojibwe. Lt. Governor Flanagan was the first Indigenous winyan (woman) elected into a statewide office in Minnesota.

One of perhaps the most well known Indigenous recipes is Wóžapi, a thick berry sauce traditionally made with dried chokecherries. In contemporary variations, Wóžapi recipes frequently feature fresh or frozen berries and employ cornstarch for thickness.
