Managing turfgrass in drought-prone southern U.S. is tough! A 2-year study shows that Civitas boosts bermudagrass quality under reduced irrigation. Applied biweekly at lower label rate or half that amount, Civitas helps save up to 20% water. https://t.co/Qbp0NN5iBF @OKstateHORTLA

There’s excellent information about sports field management, but it’s scattered across university extension websites and PDFs. What if we could make it easier to find answers? I built an LLM assistant that answers questions about sports turf management. https://t.co/E7BVmfPuVH

Protecting bees from insecticide exposure! My student @godara_nav shows that common sense measures can dramatically reduce bee visitation to weedy turf prior to insecticide treatment. UV dye as proxy for insecticide. More glow indicates more bee visitation to weedy flowers.

Easy to spot the zoysiagrass contamination on this bermudagrass research green by the lack of annual bluegrass. Turfgrass selection can be the foundation to a good weed control program.

For golf courses to benefit from improved bermudagrasses, they need effective strategies to eradicate old bermudagrass and make way for the new. Researchers @UCRiverside are working to identify the best approaches and their preliminary findings are very interesting 👇

Converting from existing to new bermudagrasses? 2 wks later, no visible differences among Roundup with or without various combos of Fusilade II, Segment II & Turflon Ester Ultra. Testing 1, 2, 3, or 4 apps on 3-wk intervals. Laid out new sister study at Victoria Club. @GCSA_Socal

My graduate student has been exploring the relative salinity tolerance of different bermudagrass cultivars. The findings indicate that the cultivars with higher salinity tolerance exhibit a more efficient excretion of salt crystals (a) through their salt glands (b).
