These leaders overwhelmingly want space to imagine. They want to center the needs and desires of people of color in this work.

We can’t create equity without restorative justice. We can’t get to reconciliation without reparations. We can’t unite as a country and w/o addressing the sedition, fascist violence, and racism we witnessed last week. If we minimize what happened there is no united future.

Very relevant, esp now. We must move toward conflict as we organize & work together. This may produce loss, reveal weaknesses, & reroute us, but w/o doing so we close off opportunities for “more possibilities, greater connection, and fuller expression.” https://t.co/QXJmF9d746

Abortion Access For All - No On 115

Abortion later in pregnancy is necessary for a number of reasons, including risks to the women’s health, or a lethal fetal diagnosis. It’s what Prop 115 seeks to ban with NO exceptions. Read more about it, and vote #NoOn115. https://t.co/R4Fg1cGXV7

Reminder==>> YESTERDAY was the last day USPS says it could guarantee delivery of a ballot by election day. If you're still planning to vote by mail, time to change plan. Vote in person. Or return you ballot via an official drop box, or in person to your election office.

Justice Kavanaugh issued a rare public "correction" to his false claim by changing ONE word. Are we satisfied? In a word, NO. We won't sit by while he uses mistruth about the Green Mountain State as cover to erode voter rights. #FactsMatter Full statement: https://t.co/KmhhnQTFt8

“The larger problem with the justice’s concurring opinion, and the majority opinion largely, is not the absence of the word ‘deadline’, it is the total lack of regard for the voting rights of American citizens.”

As we keep seeing images of long voting lines, its important to remember there is nothing inspiring about people having to wait hours and hours to vote. Long lines are discriminatory, suppressive, and a direct result of the Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act. A thread:

“In philanthropy, we’ve gotten the question all mixed up. We center ourselves around what we want to know about the work, rather than asking our partners on the ground, who we’re funding, what is it that you need to know?"

Interesting food for thought... “Bridging America’s divides requires a willingness to work together without becoming friends first”

The advocates of friendship as a way to solve America’s partisan divide are wrong. There are more effective ways to tackle intractable political problems.

I’ve raised this issue with my White DEI peers and I’d have to say I’ve always been met with an incredible defensiveness rather than a curiosity to explore the topic with intellectual rigor and honesty.
