According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, the child was 3-years-old. The death occurred in Marion County, which is about 80 miles east of St. Louis and about 250 miles south of Chicago.
New: A child died on a bus of migrants Gov. Abbott sent to Chicago. TDEM says the child was with their parents and received medical care after the bus pulled over. Each passenger was checked for medical conditions before departure. Full statement below.

Yesterday, on the first day of Title 8 and the #asylumban, I met a Honduran mother with 2 minor children who had just arrived to Matamoros fleeing persecution in Honduras. They were turned back by CBP when they presented at the official port of entry and asked to seek asylum 1/
