FADM Chester Nimitz lost part of a finger in an accident involving a diesel engine. His class ring prevented his left hand from being crushed. He would later perform a magic trick for children in which he made his finger "disappear" by showing his stump. #SeaStorySaturday

The funeral and committal for astronaut CAPT Jim Lovell was held today at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. The famed naval aviator who commanded the Apollo 13 lunar mission passed away on August 7 at the age of 97.
