COCO ISN'T A HALLOWEEN MOVIE.
COCO ISN'T A FALL MOVIE.
COCO IS A DIA DE MUERTOS MOVIE ABOUT THE TIME WE USE TO GRIEVE, AND LOVE, AND CELEBRATE, AND REMEMBER AND HOW WE PROCESS DEATH.
I said it with the first series, but the way the Castlevania animators understand how to light brown skin, the rich undertones, and how different light sources affect it is a masterclass
In case anyone is wondering,

's Jia is played by a Deaf actress, Kaylee Hottle and I hope this debut role leads to so many more. I loved her!
Then it turns nightmarish. The police start running and grabbing people who are trying to get away as clouds of gas rise to envelop the City Seal on City Hall. Half a block to my right is Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall's home.
Stop saying Namor is Latino.
He's Mayan. He's indigenous. He's reprensting Indigenous Mexicans who Gabe to fight to be seen. If I have to see one more person talk about it being Latinos versus Wakandans I am going to lose it istg
@lizzylynngarcia
i lost a lot of followers last time i pointed it out, but natalie portman is performative in the same way clout chasers are on this app.
“This MF paid for Twitter”
No, I didn’t pay for Twitter.
I paid for free speech.
I paid for 1776 to commence again.
I paid for the Founding Fathers’ vision.
I paid to tell Silicon Valley to go screw itself.
I paid to show support for a man who put himself in the line of…
There is no money for student loans that are debilitating borrowers.
There is no money for healthcare, making people choose to live or lose their home.
There is no money to make sure the American people can live.
But there is money to fund war, to fund genocide.
I'm sick.
BREAKING: The House of Representatives just voted to give Israel $14.3 billion in more weapons to deepen US complicity in Israel's genocidal attacks against Palestinians in Gaza. A shameful day in Congress.
To answer :
1. Jimin's name is in the credits (song is fully credited)
2. No, it's not just Jimin, the scene opens with his part but the song continues in the background
Also if you can, please donate to our fundraiser for the kids of St. Jude:
Dia de Muertos isn't Halloween.
It isn't about spooky and scary. It's about celebrating your ancestors, processing your grief, and honoring your family.
modeling your awards show after hollywood ones and ignoring that the speeches are some of the most impactful parts of it and instead they've cut them to 30 seconds before they play music just to run more ads...trailers and announcements are JUST ADS.
people saying Daisy Ridley is "sharing secrets" and "shining light" but said John Boyega was "whining" really shows what they care about in the fandom.
hi.
don't make jokes about TX and Texans - Abbott is very much sacrificing all of us and the extreme gerrymandering of the state means he's who a lot of us got stuck with. oh and like, look at the infection rate of Latinx here -- this isn't a funny matter.
I really love
#HazbinHotel
! It's a refreshing take on adult animated comedy with killer songs and a fantastic reimagining of Catholic eschatology.
Angel is perfect. No notes.
My review:
A SELENA SERIES WAS JUST ORDERED BY ABC AND I CANT FUCKING CONTAIN MY HYPE OR LOVE OMFG
THE QUEEN OF TEJANO. LA REINA. THE PERSON WHO MADE LITTLE CHICANAS WHO SPOKE ENGLISH FIRST FEEL ACCEPTED. OMFG. A SHOW WITH A MEXICAN AMERICAN WOMAN AT ITS HEART.
Another racist incident that shows that just because you used the hashtag for a week that racism did not end.
Just because you have now stopped putting your energy into highlighting issues and uplifting voice doesn't mean racism has ended.
A noose was found hanging in the garage stall of driver Bubba Wallace, NASCAR announced Sunday
Wallace released a statement on the situation, saying: “This will not break me, I will not give in nor will I back down.”
Tenoch Huerta has been an amazing actor and if you're looking for more films with him in it:
Son of Monarchs (hbo)
Forever Purge (hbo)
Tigers Are Not Afraid (shudder)
Madres (amazon)
Disney acquiring NatGeo was the worst thing to happen. NatGeo is so culturally significant to the sharing of science and building science literacy. This is awful.
Today marks the last day for all of National Geographic's staff writers and many of their brilliant editors.
I'm so proud of all the work I've done with these talented people, and know they'll all land on their feet. But it's a sad day for journalism...
y'all can focus on exclsuives and i'm gonna focus on the fact that by Bethesda coming to game pass day one means a lot of gamers who wouldn't have had the money to buy games now have access to them
Latinos are the reason we have anime in America and that love and that passion and that viewership was driven by Akira Toriyama. We are in love with anime because of this man. I just.. fuck....
You shot a child in the head for standing by himself away from the protests.
You shot medics carrying a man wounded by your officers.
You shot a pregnant woman in the stomach.
We can’t express enough how grateful we are to serve you, Austin. Our officers have been working around the clock during these unprecedented times and thank everyone who took the time to write and make our day a little brighter.

man, y'all trowing out "emo batman" like it's an insult like Bruce hasn't been the most melodramatic woe-is-me hero ever. Bruce Wayne is the blueprint for the sad boi.
This is not about CEOs failing a company, it's meaner than that. These companies are succeeding and are still hitting profit highs and STILL choosing to gut their employees to make them even higher margins.
I can't imagine having red carpet access only to make an actor uncomfortable by putting him into a sexual situation he didn't accept like that.
I thirst Pedro like we all do but the way he's been reduced to this instead of you know maybe asking about his work...
As a critic, you don't have to be a fan of the thing but you DO need to understand the genre and medium you're interacting with. It is your literal job. The reason this review is awful is because it's disrespectful of the film and then ENTIRE style.
I am truly over any sort of respectability bullshit.
White supremacists don't get compassion, especially from folks like me who they don't believe should exist.
I really want to write a piece about M'Baku and how he not only stole the scene also brought a different body type to the Men of Marvel and how he's inspiring thirst on his throne as much as Killmonger shirtless.
A truck driver who drove into Minneapolis protesters has been released from jail without criminal charges.
The governor said the driver was "frustrated" when he drove onto the highway, just before it was closed to traffic. No protesters were injured.
Reminder that cops shot 18-year-old Andres Guardado in the back 7 times while he was working this week.
Reminder that police who killed Breonna Taylor while she was sleeping in her own home have not been arrested.
And these are only TWO of the many cases.
Game Pass is good for people who can't drop money on games because gaming is a class exclusionary hobby that disproportionately keeps brown and Black folks out of gaming and that's always been my only Game Pass take. It's good, actually.
Horror NEVER needed to be saved. Deep films like these have been there. They just havent gotten theatrical release.
Hororr fans have known the power of the genre and now non-horror fans are like look at these i like it now so they saved it.
Not how any of that works.
@D0HYUNSOO
so this movie is actually very good and one of the best examples of BDSM on screen in a very long time. This is their FIRST play session and it's meant to absolutely chaotic and embarrassing bc they don't know what they're doing
I reviewed it here:
I'm curious as to who they had do their research and consultations. The Aztecs were known for their use of color and their cities were vibrant and gorgeous. Here, they really just said, you know those ruins, they looked like ruins when they were bustling metropolises too
LOOK AT TENOCH
It makes me so happy to see everyone thirsting for an Indigenous Mexican man. His features, his skin tone, I remember being taught to dislike parts of myself, and to see people so in love with Tenoch makes me so happy to see beauty standards reset to include us.
Job loss is trauma.
My mental health is still wrecked because I had to move backwards in my career because I needed to pay bills. I still cry thinking about how I have failed my family even though being laid off wasn't my fault. I still internalize it.
Beyond the money, insurance, etc., the mental toll of being laid off cannot be overstated.
I cried a lot when I was laid off (on my b day no less ha) – I worked so hard for the job, and it was gone, instantly. And 18 months later, the worry it could happen again still remains.
#GodzillaMinusOne
is absolutely perfect. It captures everything that Godzilla means, the resiliency of those surviving, and ultimately is a film about valuing life above all else.
God. And that score. THAT SCORE.
reminder: squid game didn't rip off hunger games, lady who did hunger games ripped off battle royale, admitted to it, and then acted like she didn't know what the property was once it was a movie lol
We need to talk about how people of color are supporting Palestine because of histories of colonization and the silencing resulting in people losing careers while the white folks like Schnapp get to keep their jobs is going to set the entertainment back drastically
/Film's sources have confirmed that Melissa Barrera has been removed from Scream 7 due to controversial comments.

The second time watched The Body, the only emotion I had experienced about my Welo's death was anger. Then I heard Anya's speech and it hit me differently. It fundamentally changed how I related to my grief and my anger.
I WISH we talked about how burn out affects POC differently than white folks more when those convos come up.
For a lot of us, we're taught the baseline for living is tired. It makes it harder to know when we need to step back because "pushing through it" is all we know.
