Today marks 56 years since the Stonewall Riots, an act of defiance that ignited the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. We remember icons such as Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, and we continue their fight for justice. #PrideMonth.
Today we remember the Stonewall Riots—where LGBTQ+ activists, led by Black and Brown trans women, stood up against injustice and sparked a movement for equality that continues today. We honor the power of protest and the courage it takes to demand change, justice & dignity.
