Though FPV drones still make their mark, Ukraine has shifted particularly towards the use of heavy bomber drones to provide multi-role combat and operational support, both compounding and alleviating an often deadly role for rotating frontline troops.

Burns covered both nighttime and mixed day-night drone operations, and observed the operational mix between drone-based offensive (i.e. bombing) and resupply runs, both of which have become increasingly critical as a part of frontline wartime strategy.
