Do we realize this would represent the US political system falling down to 3rd world country status?
@cruxaxismundi Yeah, it is tricky, Daniel. We are near the point of politicos fleeing the United States after their tenures to avoid lawfare. JOH is unlikely to go home this month.

It seems like yesterday: being back in Argentina and writing this with support from @mpazgomezm. She had just joined me as my research assistant, and we had arranged to place it with @securefreedom. However, they failed to get back to us in time, so we went with @FoxNews instead.
(1/3) This article, first published in 2016 with @FoxNews, seems prophetic now. Oddly, the deal did not pass, but politicos forced it through anyway. https://t.co/WZqdGMz1cH By @FergHodgson with research support from @MPazGomezM.

Definitely worth the effort to analyze and bring out specific observations. For Honduras it means a constitutional crisis that will have to be solved one way or the other. But for the US, I believe it's more dangerous, if justice becomes a partisan fighting field.
There is a lot to pick apart in this story, and we intend to give a balanced perspective in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, the case has become a partisan story in both Honduras and the United States.

(3/3) Many politicians are open to taking up the FARC cause for 21st-century socialism. That includes Gustavo Petro, a former Bogotá mayor, guerrilla fighter, and now presidential aspirant with an approval rating already at 40 percent.

Talk of non-interventionism from the Venezuelan regime belies an eagerness to expand influence beyond their borders. For many years, they have had their eyes on Colombia; now the so-called Peace...

#Venezuela: In an appearance on @NEWSMAX, I emphasized that transitions always have the potential to be messy, but the risks of leaving @NicolasMaduro regime in power FAR outweigh the risks of pushing for Venezuela's long-awaited liberation. This is NOT "Libya on the Caribbean."

Once again the Netherlands 🇳🇱 plays a role in protecting the Venezuelan opposition. In August last year the Dutch embassy sheltered @EdmundoGU for weeks following the elections. Now it turns out they also provided safe passage for @MariaCorinaYA to leave Venezuela 🇻🇪 for Oslo.
Where was Nobel laureate Maria Corina Machado? Feverishly trying to get to Oslo. @WSJ reports that she left Venezuela Tuesday by boat and traveled to the Caribbean island nation of Curaçao first. Her daughter told the world she’ll be in Norway later today.
