Cyclist killed Wednesday in the ACT Cyclist killed Thursday in WA Cyclist killed Monday in NSW Cyclist killed Tuesday in VIC Thatβs FOUR in a week! Eventually, if we grow up as a nation, we will finally care enough to make our roads safer. At the moment we just don't care enough.
Cyclist killed Thursday in WA Cyclist killed Monday in NSW Cyclist killed today (Tuesday) in VIC Thatβs MORE than 1 every 9 days. (Did I miss any?) Soon we will be able to act to make our roads safer. We just need enough deaths to make us care like the Dutch in the 1970s.

#cyclist deaths on Australian roads are up by 30.3% over the past year. We urgently need to review our approach to #RoadSafety. #CarCulture #activetransport @BenCarrollMP @VicHealth @shavo27 @shavo27 @DrShaneRRR @StreetsYarra @yarrabike @MerribekBUG

Err, no you canβt get on the beers and win at the tour. What a strange article. Plenty of shy bashing. Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard fails to win over public

The Dane, champion for the second time, lacks the warmth and humanity to capture the imagination of the French people

Just keep making runs and youβll be right. If you reckon cycling has a weak culture and no integrity, take a look at this mob. Not a doubting word in the press. Play on boys. Itβs only sport. #Cricket #sportsculture #cyclinglife
One of the greatest batsman ever. But still a cheat. This is wrong wrong wrong! βSteve Smith has etched his name into the record books alongside Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke after winning a fourth Allan Border Medal at Australian cricketβs night of nights.β

Riding in Australia is overwhelming fear inducing. Many people driving cars are abusive, volatile and lack a basic understanding of the road rules or respect for other humans. I also drive a car and I manage navigate other road users just fine. Take me back to Spain.

βThey have their own lives to live, and to lose them is to lose a part of ourselves.β Beautiful piece on the Thylacine.π
Haven't tweeted in an age, but thinking and feeling a lot as #NationalThreatenedSpeciesDay passes. This year I marked the day with an extended @nma blog post about thylacine and their enduring power.

A freelancer's lot can be cruel & humiliating. Chased nearly every invoice at my last gig. My last invoice was repeatedly ignored for 2 months until I threatened legal action - they paid within 24 hrs. #Freelance #writersoftwitter #writerslife #twitterstorians
